Sanctuary Is Receiving a National Design Award

Squaremoon Studio is proud to announce the receipt of a national design award for the 2024 Sanctuary from the 2024 Faith & Form Awards for Religious Architecture & Art, by Partners for Sacred Places.

The awards program was founded in 1978 with the goal of honoring the best in architecture, liturgical design, and art for religious spaces. The 2024 awards recognized excellence in the creation and restoration of religious spaces, the designing of religious landscapes, and the making of religious art.

Squaremoon is honored to share in a field of other winners including a sacred space designed by Santiago Calatrava and a seminary featuring a James Turell Skyspace. Sanctuary 2024 was a cardboard structure featured in Pride Festivals in Utah, Idaho, and New York. More information on the awards can be found at:

Doug Staker, Principal of Squaremoon Studio, wishes to thank his many friends for the volunteer effort that made the project possible, as well as support from 3-Form, the Utah Pride Festival, Flourish Point and Rexburg Pride Festival, West End Church, and Side Gig Productions. Sanctuary encourages people everyone to show understanding for others with different points of view, different lifestyles, and different beliefs. We are better when we live together peacefully and respectfully and celebrate our difference.
